VINEYARD WIND 2

Powering Healthy Communities with
100% Clean Energy

On March 27, 2024, Vineyard Offshore submitted proposals to Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island for Vineyard Wind 2. Located 29 miles south of Nantucket, Vineyard Wind 2 will deliver 1,200 MW of clean electricity to New England, enough to power 650,000 homes.

The Project is expected to reduce carbon pollution in New England by 2.1 million tons per year, equivalent to taking 414,000 cars off the road, while improving public health by reducing air pollutants like nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, and fine particulate matter.

With construction based in Salem, secondary manufacturing in Providence, operations and maintenance in New Bedford, and electricity delivered to the regional grid in Montville, Vineyard Wind 2 offers New England the most economical offshore wind project possible while delivering economic benefits across the region.

Of $2.3 billion in total economic impact throughout New England, over $1.5 billion will be realized in Massachusetts, along with 80% of total employment
