FISHERIES & MARINERS

GOOD NEIGHBORS ONSHORE AND OFFSHORE

Vineyard Offshore is committed to working with the fishing industry to find compatible solutions for both industries to thrive. We aim to develop, construct, operate, and decommission well-sited offshore wind projects with minimal fisheries impacts. Where impacts are unavoidable, we work collaboratively with fishermen, agencies, and other stakeholders to identify appropriate and practicable solutions.

We have over a decade of experience engaging with commercial and recreational fishermen, vessel owners, fishing advocacy organizations, shore support services, and fisheries research institutions. We fund research, share data, and participate in regional science initiatives. We have a network of Fisheries Representatives to establish two-way communication channels during project development and construction. We hire fishing vessels to conduct fisheries surveys, support site assessment efforts, data gathering, and other activities on the water at various stages of project development and construction.
