A new wave of offshore wind power

With staging and installation based in Salem, secondary steel manufacturing in Providence, grid interconnection in southeastern Connecticut, and operations and maintenance in New Bedford, Vineyard Wind 2 will deliver widespread economic benefits throughout New England. The project is projected to generate $2.3 billion in total economic impact across the region, supporting thousands of jobs and driving growth in local communities. Vineyard Wind 2 is expected to reduce carbon pollution by 2.1 million tons per year—equivalent to removing 414,000 cars from the road—while improving public health through decreased air pollutants.
