Blake joined Vineyard Offshore as Labor Relations Manager for New York in February 2024 and is based in New York City. Blake spent the past 5 years working for Suffolk County government on Long Island, where he served as Deputy Commissioner of Labor and Assistant Deputy County Executive. Most recently, he led the County’s efforts developing a community resource and workforce training center called the Brentwood Center. The Center focuses on bringing career awareness and training for offshore wind and advanced manufacturing to high school students and working families in Suffolk County. The Brentwood Center will also be home to the National Offshore Wind Training Center, Long Island’s home for industry standard Global Wind Organization safety certification.Blake has also served in the New York Army National Guard as an Engineer Officer since 2016.
Blake received a Master in Public Policy degree at Harvard’s Kennedy School with an emphasis on Economic and Workforce Development policy. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Brandeis University. He brings 18 years of experience in local government and community organizing to this role.
Blake spends his free time exploring the wilderness with his family and his dog, Red. He enjoys rock climbing in the Gunks and the Adirondacks, and goes skiing whenever the snow makes an appearance.
