STATEMENT FROM LARS T. PEDERSEN, CEO, VINEYARD OFFSHORE

RE: FEDERAL-STATE OFFSHORE WIND IMPLEMENTATION PARTNERSHIP

(BOSTON, MA) – Lars T. Pedersen, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Vineyard Offshore, today released the following statement on the newly announced Federal-State Offshore Wind Implementation Partnership:

“We thank the Biden Administration and the participating States for spearheading this important initiative and look forward to working with them in the years to come," said Lars Pedersen, CEO of Vineyard Offshore. “The offshore wind industry has the potential to revolutionize the US energy sector, providing millions of homes with clean and affordable power and creating thousands of good paying, union jobs, but that potential won’t be realized if we don’t have the industry and governments at every level pulling in the same direction and working for the same goal. As part of the joint venture that is currently building the Vineyard Wind 1 project, we are already working with suppliers in 12 states, showcasing the potential for domestic job creation across the US as more projects progress."

Vineyard Offshore is leading the development of two lease areas in the Northeast. Lease area OCS-A 522, known as Vineyard Northeast, is located off the coast of Massachusetts. In addition, the recently acquired lease area OCS-A 544, known as Vineyard Mid-Atlantic, is located in the New York Bight. Both lease areas are owned by the CI-IV fund managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).  Combined with the 50% ownership of the Vineyard Wind 1 project, Vineyard Offshore has the potential to develop more than 4 gigawatts of clean, renewable and affordable energy on the East Coast of the United States, enough to power at least 2.4 million homes.
