Kathryn Niforos Joins Vineyard Offshore as Senior Communications Manager

As Member of External Affairs Team, Niforos Will Take on Broad Corporate and Project Communication Responsibilities under the Director of Communications

(BOSTON, MA) – Vineyard Offshore today announced that Kathryn Niforos has joined the company as Senior Communications Manager. As a member of Vineyard Offshore’s External Affairs team and working under Director of Communications Andrew Doba, Kathryn will take on broad corporate and project communication duties, including media relations. She was previously Director of Communications for the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center.

“Vineyard Offshore is a growing company, focused on the buildout of projects in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and West Coast, and our communication needs are growing as well,” said Christian Scorzoni, Vice President and Head of External Affairs for Vineyard Offshore. “With her background, experience, and enthusiasm for offshore wind, Kathryn is the perfect person to help us manage national and regional communication responsibilities.”

“I am excited to welcome Kathryn to the Vineyard Offshore team,” said Andrew Doba, Director of Communications. “From the Vineyard Wind project, now under construction, to three lease areas on the East and West coasts Vineyard Offshore is preparing to develop, we have great stories to tell. Kathryn is the ideal person to help us tell them.”

At the quasi-public Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC), Kathryn led all external and internal communications, including media response and outreach. She also organized public events and coordinated with the Governor’s Office. Prior to MassCEC, she was a Senior Corporate Communications Specialist at Abt Associates. She also served as Deputy Campaign Manager and Advisor for Boston City Councilor Matt O’Malley, whom she married in 2016, with then-Attorney General, now Governor, Maura Healey officiating.

“Joining Vineyard Offshore is the opportunity I’ve been waiting for,” said Niforos. “Offshore wind is the most exciting arena of clean energy development today and the biggest resource we have to solve the climate crisis. I look forward to helping Vineyard Offshore raise its profile and establish a trusted presence everywhere it is working.”

Kathryn Niforos holds a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from Northeastern University, where she also earned a certificate in Public Relations.
