Jaclyn Robinson Joins Vineyard Offshore as West Coast Tribal Relations Lead

Robinson comes on board to help company strengthen ties with Tribal Nations on the West Coast

(EUREKA, CA) – Vineyard Offshore, a leading developer of U.S. offshore wind energy, today announced Jaclyn Robinson as the company’s West Coast Tribal Lead. In this new position, Robinson will strengthen ties between Vineyard Offshore and Tribal leaders on the West Coast to ensure the company’s projects in the region are responsive to Tribal concerns and priorities.

Robinson will work to build relationships with Tribal members and governments, keeping them informed about project status, actively soliciting input at all stages, and looking for ways to work together as the project advances.

“We’re thrilled to have Jaclyn take on this critically important role,” said Rachel Pachter, Chief Development Officer at Vineyard Offshore. “We have tremendous respect for the leadership Tribal Nations provide in Northern California and the surrounding regions. Jaclyn’s experience, creativity, and enthusiasm are a great match for the important work ahead of making sure these projects are built with the right input, protections, and local benefits.”

In this role, Robinson will help to ensure that Vineyard Offshore complies with requirements and conditions under the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) lease agreement, state permits, and its Native American Tribes Communication Plan. In leading company engagement with West Coast Tribes, Robinson will build on Vineyard Offshore’s experience developing Vineyard Wind 1, the nation’s first commercial-scale wind project and its engagement with local Tribes. Vineyard Offshore recently signed a historic Tribal Benefit Agreement with the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.

“I’m excited to get to work helping Vineyard Offshore engage with Tribes on the West Coast to make sure their concerns are heard, and their priorities are respected,” said Robinson. “As a member of a West Coast Tribe, I understand the intricacies that come with building energy infrastructure near Tribal lands and the value of open dialogue with Tribal Governments and leaders in making sure that offshore wind works for everyone.”

A member of the Hoopa Valley Tribe, Robinson comes to Vineyard Offshore with more than 15 years of experience working for Tribal communities in Northern California. She previously served as Planning Director and Tribal Liaison for Climate and Energy for the Hoopa Valley Tribe, and she has held several other leadership positions within Tribal government across construction management, climate and energy, administration, transportation, and research. A native of Northern California, Robinson is a graduate of College of the Redwoods and attended Humboldt State University.
