Overview

Offshore wind development means jobs

One of the most important economic benefits for local communities provided by offshore wind development is job creation. With experience gained through Vineyard Wind 1, Vineyard Offshore is committed to integrating local union labor in our projects while also training and equipping the offshore wind workforce for sustained career success.

A partner for labor with opportunity for all

Vineyard Offshore looks to partner with organized labor on its offshore wind developments, while including hiring goals for women, underrepresented groups, and local residents who may not be involved in union trades.

Developing the offshore wind workforce

Vineyard Offshore supports local education institutions and workforce training programs, hosts job fairs in concert with its contractors and suppliers, and invests in youth development agencies and programs to attract the next generation of workers.

Launching new careers

Offshore wind development provides job opportunities for workers and businesses in industries ranging from offshore oil and gas to merchant marine and shipbuilding, while also creating entirely new occupations, like offshore wind technician.
